:-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[I am almost speechless today, over the rioting that took place after the hockey game last night.
I am embarrassed for sure, but more than embarrassed, I'm mad as hell!!!
What you probably saw and will see for the next 24 hrs. or so, on your TV sets is not the real people of Vancouver. It's really a small grp. of idiots. I would have hoped the police would have done more, but we have so many damn "bleeding hearts" that had they done what they should/could have done, the other idiots that were smart enough to not get as involved as their friends, would be screaming Police brutality. I make no bones about being a socialist minded person and would have no problem if the "powers that be" stopped large grp. gatherings. Then something like this probably wouldn't take place. I also wouldn't have an issue and would applaud use of water cannons, rubber bullets and more force if necessary. The majority of Vancouverites are good people and what people are seeing is not the spirit of Vancouver.
I'm sorry you had to see this.

We have our fare share of morons too I'm guessing. Oh the pack mentality !!!! Have we really evolved that far from hanging in trees? I've seen video of apes and monkeys where they act the same way as some people did last night. This had nothing to do with winning or losing a f*%king hockey game. These are the same moronic idiots that riot at the G7 meetings, and any place there are lrg. gatherings. I mean really!!!! who the F*%K brings a balaclava to a hockey game. Then we have the even more stupid people who want to riot and loot and not wear a mask. I hope we use every means possible to bring these idiots to justice. Not that I have a lot of faith in our Provincial gov't to actually hold these people they DO catch, accountable for their actions.
You just don't know how freak'in mad I really am!!! :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/>Not to mention embarrassed. :-[

Ricky,

I was very surprised by the rioting in Vancouver. I expect to see that kind of crap here in the states, but I always thought Canucks were more civilized than that. You're right, it's a mob mentality and probably fueled by an excess of Molson.

Still, you don't need to apologize for your countrymen. We know it's a very small percentage of people who do this kind of stuff. If it was LA, they would have been looting the businesses, not just breaking windows and turning over vehicles.

We are all responsible for our own actions. Not those of others. Lighten up Ricky, after 24 hrs. most of us will go back to not knowing where Vancouver is.

I am shocked too. Usually Canadians are decent peaceful people. Sounds out of character to me.

Insanity is a communicable disease, and spreading around the globe.... No one or country is safe or isolated from it anymore. It started out like the black plague in Europe and has crossed the oceans to the North American Continent.
Dont think there are any countries at the moment that arent infected.

Oh don't be mistaken here or sell these morons short. "They" were looting the stores all right. But not the people with the balaclava's ...No!!!! the bare faced idiots. They were taking furniture from stores and throwing it on to lit autos. Stealing from all of the stores.
I take that apology back then,.... but it is embarrassing.

You know, in all of my travels, I've come to realize that there are bone-head losers in every society and culture. But there are also good people, such as yourself Ricky.

Yup. A small group of idiots surrounded by an very large group of morons who just shoulda gone home. But, still a beautifull city and a riot once every 8-10 years isnt too bad. They should have issued everyone a paint ball gun and a bag of ammo. That might have been fun too watch and would blow off that pent up steam.

There was rioting here in Vancouver? ::)

Oh that Vancouver....not Vancouver USA...well that is good.

Actually Rick I do not agree with you regarding the government not allowing large crowds. Not that I have a say in Canadien politics. ;)

My daughter visited the great City of Vancouver BC to watch the USA-Canada gold medal game. She was one of very few to be rooting for the USA...everyone treated her with respect. She had an amazing experience and loved the city. This would not have happened if large crowds were not allowed.

Maybe they should just hang the b*astards on main street.....that should take care of any future problems.
