Arrived! Chuckster's Dual-Plate Intake mod

Got a very pleasant surprise this morning - one dual-plate intake kit from Joe Norris! Two days from order until arrival - now that's fast! I had already planned on changing the oil, replacing a burned-out lightbar bulb and the dead horn on the bike, so this just got added right to the list.

Since Cajunrider and Gene installed one of these setups on billmac's bike not too long ago during a KNOW session, I was still pretty fresh with how to do it on my own. Total time took about an hour, two if you count the fact that I could NOT find the K&N E-3402 anywhere in the DFW area..nor could I find a suitable replacement. :(" title="" border="0"/> Sooo.. one should be arriving on my doorstep tomorrow.

Otherwise, the installation went fine. Excellent fit/finish on the filter plate and had all the parts I would've needed. Incidentally, while billmac didn't need the spacers for his bike, I needed them, and then some, on mine. ??? I have very little clearance between the tank and the stock dog bowl, but it looks like it'll work out.

Thanks for the REALLY fast turn-around, Joe! Can't wait to take it out after I get it all tuned up tomorrow!

Congratulations on what seems like a great job. Can't wait to see what you think about it once you get out and see how it does.

Arrived! Chuckster's Dual-Plate Intake mod

I installed one of Chuckster's Dual plate setups on my 03' 1500. I took it for a ride today. This makes all the difference in the world. Joe is making a spacer to keep the stock cover off of the tank on my 1500. Chuckster's products are super and his support is the best! The combination of an intake, fuel processor and V&H exhaust has made this like a different bike.

Don't know about a scalded dog but it is at least equivalent to a turpentined feline!

On the VTX I had, we removed all the desomg equipment, and blocked off the REED valves with block off plates.

Is this the same thing on the Nomads?

Yes. The reed valve ports are covered with coasters.

What they are talking about here is an aftermarket intake. Joe's dual-plate intake kit is a lot more cost effective than buying a Thunder kit, or hypercharge. It does the same, but for a lot less. I've seen his intake kit, and it is very similar to my Thunder Stealth intake.
a lot of us also have removed the reed valves, and blocked off where they were with "coasters", aka block-off plates.

Got ya. I did that on a few bikes, didn't know you can do that on this one

On the VTX, it took away any deceleration popping when you added a hyper charger, and pipes.

I removed all the de-smog equipment on it. Now that I know that can be done on this bike, I'll order them both. I'm a big fan of doing this mod

Gadgets page for all this?

Gadget for the coasters, but not Chuckster's Dual Plate.

Dual Plate is here:
