Pipes

So I have a 2012 voyager. Love the bike wife loves the bike. Very hard to find aftermarket stuff and accessories for them though or I am looking in the wrong spot. I love my music am working on going to the 6.5” speakers right now. I am going to do the Ivan flash. I am wondering though what the best pipes are so I can still listen to music while cruzin. I keep hearing negotiate things about the V/H slip ones. Wondering what everyone recommends. Any and all advise and experiences are welcome and appreciated.

Spellcheck eh? "negotiate"

General consensus is: LOUDEST = Freedom Performance, Next Loudest = V&H, Next one down= Cobra, and Most "neighbor friendly" = OEM.

You'll find videos of all of them on YouTube.

I have just put the V&H on my 1700. I have them on my 1500. I wrapped the 1500 with stove rope and love them. the 1700 baffles have a screen around them and I can't wrap them the same. Just a little louder, not that sweet tone I love, but I will take care of that by removing the screen and adding the stove rope.

So you don’t like the way the VH sound on your voyager. Also how are they at highway speeds interfering with the sound of your music.

Everything will interfere with your music except stock pipes. If your going to go with 6.5 speakers I’d add a amp and you should have a problem.
I have the intercom system and JM headset in my helmet so when I’m running the highway for extended periods of time I can’t even hear my cobra pipes.

The V&H slip-ons sound good,,,,,, it's just the sweet sound and tone with the baffles wrapped in stove rope I like. At 80 mph I don't even want to here the radio. I want to be able the hear any problem that might develop at higher speeds.

I'd add another option to the mix of suggestions... De Baffle.
I drilled out the restrictor plates of my Vaquero mufflers, love the sound but doesn't drive me crazy on the highway.

I did this on my 2012 Voyager, and love the results. They arent loud, but you can hear it running. I have my 800 with the rear most baffle removed if I want more sound.

At highway speeds I don't really hear my V&H slip ons. I have the radio usually set at around 14 at highway speed and hear it fairly well with a helmet on.

Can I see a pic of your bike please sir. Curious on what windshield you have. And I am assuming you have an upgraded stereo.

I have a Voyager with a 12" high windshield and Cobra Tri Flo pipes. I use a full face modular helmet with good quality ear plugs and with the visor up or down I can hear my stock radio with Hogtune speakers. I keep the volume at 15 and can hear it very well. I do live in the mountains and most of my riding is back roads. When I take the freeway into Sacramento area it still works OK for me but if I were in LA area on those freeways I think the volume would need to be higher.

Stock stereo. I was using a 9" Klock Werks shield but just installed the 12" but haven't ridden the bike with the new shield yet.
