Not exactly motorcycle related but this forum's about a close to a general topic.

Presently I work for Penske Logistics. Our contract with CSK Auto expires on 03/06/2010. O'Reilly Auto Parts bought CSK and are not going to renew. So I'm looking to transfer. There's an open positions in Dallas and Orlando. I was wondering what's it like there. I can not believe there are too many places worse than here in Southern California. Other than the weather, this state has gone to the dogs.

With in a couple hundered miles of Dallas is some great riding and a city that size has lots to offer. It will take a full day minimum to get anywhere in Texas. It's huge!
Orlando on the other hand, like all florida, doesn't have moutains (it's a days ride to the smokies) but there are motorcyclists galore everywhere and everyone like to ride a lot! And there are some roads that aren't straight. You have the ocean in less than a hour, and two of the worlds largest motorcycle events with in 1 1/2 hours. Every kind of food, and every kind of entertainment in the world is available in Florida. It truly is a melting pot of humanity.

Depending on the area of Orlando, it isn't too bad. Traffic in the city itself is a PITA to deal with. Northeast of O-town has some great riding areas, south, well, it is really, really flat.

Just read an article online that stated that Orlando metro area was one of the most over priced real estate markets in the U.S.

Seems all the states have gone to the dogs or whatever. I have been in Dallas and Orlando. I would pick The Big D to work and live in the outskirts maybe even Lindale where Trip resides. I do love Texas and if it weren't for my wife I would probably be living close to my daughter in Killeen.

Some of the most scenic rides you will ever enjoy are to be found in Texas. Good luck on your decision. Let us know what you decide.
