Slip On's?
I tossed a coin as to where to place this...so please feel free to move if needed :)
Has anyone just used "slip on" exhaust on the Nomads? Is it more work than needed or would it be best just to save the penny's and buy a full set? Thanks

Slip On's?
I think most guys buy a complete set when they replace their pipes, however there are some that have used different types with the stock header pipe. Someone here a while ago installed Harley slip ons and said they sounded good. Many times a HD dealer will have sets available from customers who installed aftermarket pipes.

Slip On's?
I don't think slip ons would work with the stock Nomad pipes. I switched to Cobra True Duals and I could probably use slip ons with those pipes if I wanted to.

Slip On's?
There are no slip on kits for the stock headers and none of the Harley mufflers will fit our stock headers. You need to buy a full aftermarket exhaust setup first, then you can switch out mufflers to whatever you want. The aftermarket headers are 1 3/4" diameter, whereas the stockers are smaller. I picked up a used set of Cobras and then have played around with several different HD mufflers to get the sound I want.

Slip On's?
I have V&H baggers on my 06 and they use slip ons. I wanted a little more quiet so I did the Harley slip on mod as per gadgets page. I like the sound. Not much louder than stock. I still have the V&H slip ons and someday when I want to make noise I may change them back. The brackets for the Harley mufflers was easy and the price was right, $20.00 for the two mufflers on e-bay. But, that all being said, no I don't think you can put slip- ons on the stock system. Of course cutting welding and mods like Ive read about on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised If someone worked it out someday.

I slipped on a banana peel one time. Oh, we are talking pipes here.

Slip On's?
No slip ons with the stock headpipes.
Goat bladder. I put HD slip ons on my V&H pipes a couple months ago and they are quieter but still have a rumble. $10.00 at the HD dealer. They hold on to take offs and sell them cheap. MT
