Looks very nice. Was that lake Michigan I saw behind you? I've ridin up that way a few times as all my family is up there. I love the U.P. and Petosky is a beautiful little town that I really enjoyed stopping in on the way to the bridge

Love the setup on the nomad also. You got a purdy one there.

On the pics is Lake Michigan. We left Auburn Hills on the 4th, made it to Alpena. On Saturday we rode on the lake shore via the Tunnel of Trees from Alpena to Petoskey and on Sunday we rode back home to Metro Detroit.

Im leaving AZ on Saturday and will be in the UP of MI on Monday or Tuesday. I am going to attempt to make at least a day in Orofino if things work out. (On my way back to AZ)

The UP in fall is great, but be aware that bear hunting season opens sometime in mid-September -- the hunters use dogs with radio collars to track and tree the bear, which we learned about in the middle of the night in a remote campground when several trucks came flying in to the campground, stopped and released their dogs. apparently they drive around and wait until the dogs pick up the scent, which happened to be right at our campground. nothing against hunting but sure took us and our two dogs in our tent by surprise at 3 a.m.

Plus I would recommend you keep your eyes peeled when motoring up there. Once you cross the bridge, the roads will beat the hell out of ya and cracks and craters that will swallow your bike. Directly after crossing we headed west on Interstate 2. About 200 miles west is Indian lake and Park a nice place to camp and relax. Also on I2 before Indian lake, a casino pops out of nowhere on the right nestled invitingly in a small clearing there in the woods if your into that sort of thing.
