A long time ago when Win98 was the thing, I saw a new HD owner in the parking lot at the dealer on a youtube video crash.

The fool strutted around the the cock of the walk, play actting mister know it all. Threw a leg over, began to ride in the parking lot, and crashed. He did about $30,000 in damage in 30 seconds. His bike and 4 more. LOL

Evidently he didn't understand clutch feathering or brakes. He didn't look any too smart after he crashed.

That's the same clip I was thinking of. I'm almost moved to tears when I see that jackwagon mindlessly aiming that beautiful ultra at the parked car. He moves the car a good couple of feet, too. It's a shame!

Good video Dave... I was thinking of that one also when I read this.

You know... the same thing applies to boats, jet-skis, and the like.

People buy these things and have no clue how to handle them safely... let alone correctly.

I guess maybe it is Darwin's theory in action... only the strongest (smartest) will survive. ;)

gwilson, now don't you get started on jet skis. They don't get that bad.

LOL I got a try on one no lessons. I was having a ball. Then I fell off and swam after it. I caught it too, but feared for the PROP. With some care i draged my self back up and began to jump my own wake. It was wild fun, and I fell off and swam for it again, and in some fear as to loosing the craft, beside that prop. I rode the thing again and fell after a bit more fun, and again chased it down. Ny this time I was too pooped to pop and rode it easy in to shore to return it to the owner.

He told me I rode it like I had before, I assured him it was my first time and I wanted to see the PROP. He laffed at me, and said he wondered why I chased it at all. LOL the dam things come right back and pick you up if you don't swim any. The prop is buried up inside the thing too, so you can't become chum.

I had a student show up for the basic rider course and , the first night, announced he had just bought a $25k bike. It was delivered by the dealership to his house. He didn't even know how to start it. He failed the course that weekend and announced he would sell his bike....."cheap".
It amazes me when people buy first then attempt to learn.
