Mini Apes
I tried searching but can't find the right answer here. I want some mini apes (9-11") but not 100% what ones to get. I was wondering if anyone has put on apes of any kind and if you remember the specs on them? Thanks for any help on this!

which bike do you have, nomad, voyager or vaquero? If you have the voyager or vaquero your going to need special bars that will clear the fairing when you turn the wheel. Something similar to the ones they put on the harleys with the batwing fairings.

It is a nomad, if and when I get a fairing I will go back to stock but for now just some basic ones. Dimpled are the ones I want right?

you don't have to necessarly get the dimpled. I don't remember if its just one or both of the switch housings but I know at least one of them has a little "tab" that locates it on the stock bar. When changing bars you have a choice of either drilling a small hole in the bar to accept tha tab or as many do, grind the little tab off of the housing, you really don't need it. It's there to keep the housing from turning on the handlebar, thing is, if the housing screws are tight its not going to turn on you anyway. Me personally, I drilled mine, its easy to do.

heres a picture of my nomad with apes. I had the wires wiretied to the handlebars in the picture. My plans were to have allot of the chrome powdercoated black. after I got the handlebars done I was going to run the wiring through the bars. Ended up trading my nomad in on a vaquero though.

Yeah I am going with the reckless fairing soon so I am just going to go with some pullback risers that reversed to push the bars forward.

I went with teh apes after I installed the Reckless. Just use stock risers and worked great. Jared(Utah) went with the bagger/dresser style. I went with the classic style. Both look great
