Tachometer for the NOMAD

I want to purchase a tach for my 03 Nomad. I have seen automotive ones that says it works for 4, 6 or 8 cyl on HF. Will it work on the Nomad?

Tachometer for the NOMAD

I had this one

http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/pa...achometer.html

http://www.hellrisercustoms.com/revi...em_no=DS244133

for about 9 years and worked fine. Had to replace the bulb once. Comes in black and white face. I'd recommend not using their handlebar mount but using one of Kury's P-clamps.

If you search, you'll find others.

For the fairing I finally installed I used this one.

I've attached the instructions for this tach which is an auto tach which may help but the one you're looking at will probably work.

No they won't. I purchased the Princess Auto gauges and they all work fine except the tach.
It reads wrong I tried a tach adapter and that didn't help either.
If someone that understands electronics could see what makes the tach read different between 4-6-8 cylinders I wonder if there is something that could be changed. Whatever is needed I think it could be done by either doubling or halving the 4 cyl switch position.

Was i as easy as the instruction to calibrate?
Did you set to 2 cyl or 4 cyl(dual ignition)?

I think I'm gonna get the black one

It's been a while since I did it but I'm sure I used the option 1 installation (direct wire to coil) and then set it for 2 cylinders per the instructions. I don't remember having any problems. It should be fairly easy to test. Try 2 cyl and then run at idle. Should read around 800-1000 rpm.

Pete

PS. When you get it, make sure it comes with the twist on ring to make is simpler to mount on the fairing. According to the web site it was supposed to but mine didn't. I just used the mounting clamp that came with it.

That equeus tach looks good, I wish they made it in the 2" size as well. Thats the size Id like in my fairing.
Its about $40.00 cheaper if you buy it from Summit racing rather then buying it direct.

I have the cobra tach that replaces the top piece of one of the risers. I like it. It was on the bike when I bought it.

Yeah, FYI here in the States, O'Reilley's also sells them at reasonable prices. I bought the tach, fuel gauge and voltmeter there.
