I was in advance auto parts store today. Noticed that the 4T 10-40 and V-twin 20-50 seem to have a new addition to their label.
They specifically state good for wet clutches. Also, and I can't remember which, Valvoline or Castrol, also stated good for wet clutches. $10.49 a quart for Mobil and the other $4.60. Interesting. Did I miss this on the label before? I don't think so...... Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I've always thought that "good for wet clutches" is inferred when it says its for motorcycles. ???

Now the label has a note saying "good for wet clutches". INMO you don't need to worry about additives in motorcycles that don't have wet clutches. Just use a good oil.

In Canada Mobil V-twin Oil is $ 12.00 a litre and Kawasaki full Synthetic is $ 8.50 a litre. I buy the less expensive oil.

I am considering changing to this oil. I used a dyno oil this spring (castrol, which worked great in my previous bike) and have noticed it seems alot noisier now. Perhaps the oil is to blame and I am thinking of going to the full synth.

The oil isnt the problem. The Vulcan just makes a lot of noise. I run Spectro dino in mind and it runs great.

They are a little noisy but mine seems to shift smoother on the Mobil 1 motorcycle oils.
