PastorGumby? Home Safe??
Thanks for asking Jasperboy! I simply added to my original post... but this is what i said:
It was a long journey, but a good one with lots of contemplative/meditative time... but SHE'S HOME, my new baby is home! The train took 4 1/2 hrs to get there, but i rode her home in 2 (and beat the nasty traffic too). OBSERVATIONS: What a super smooth ride! I realize you don't need 5th till you start hitting 70 on the clock. The ride was gravy EXCEPT for some buffeting at high speeds (with a full face helmet) - the windshield was a bit below eye level. I also experienced some noises on my right footboard, like loud knocking - probably when hitting bumps, I'm not sure. Is this common? Those were my only 2 gripes. I can't wait to do some mods... but i'm going to sit on my hands for a bit and wait. I did wind up putting on my old kurykan highway pegs, and my old handlebar clock & thermometer when i got home. I also plan on transferring my old Brakeaway cruise control (apparently share the same model as the one on my m50), and I plan on putting on some new kuryakyn ISO grips. The previous owner is a great guy (retired police officer), and took very good care of her. I'm officially a NOMAD-MAN! Thanks for your well wishes, the prodigal pastor is home! peace.

I used to own an 07 M50. Very nice little scooter. That's quite a jump from the Suzuki to the Nomad.

Glad you are home and enjoyed the ride. Windshield has a good amount of adjustment, that along with some larger lowers can have a great effect on reducing buffeting. Not sure about the right footboard knock, check to see if everything is tight. Once again welcome to the group. Most here have had previous rides, but very few move on to different ones.

Glad you got the Nomad home Pastor, I put on a set of Chucksters larger lowers a few weeks ago and they have helped reduce the buffeting. Congratulations on the purchase. I know you are going to love it!

Congrats on the new to you black Nomad. Looks like there are quite a few mods done to it already... she's a looker.
Do you have to wear a full body helmet to ride in NY? Congrats and welcome! |

PastorGumby? Home Safe??
Thanks again guys, i hope we all could meet up someday and ride & chill outl. I will miss my Suzuki M50 - she was a nasty little thing really.
My bike has the tourpack (not a fancy one mind you), and it's not perfectly soundly secured to the rear rack- which may have been the source of some noise; she also came with frilly lever things (my wife likes it, i'm not too sure yet if i do); larger lowers that need to be mounted; sears battery tender; valkerie tips on the exhaust (but i'm considering doing the debaffle); risers; newer avon cobra tires. My hopefull to do list so far: kury iso grips, cobra fuel processor, debaffle; stebel air horn; black baron tachometer mounted smack in the middle; mustang-- tank & fender bib - someday a mustang seat w/ backrest ; a grasshopper back rest; air mod; addt'l lights; 9v power plug; oh - i would love to professionally powder coat the headlight fixture in black to match the bike color. That would just about do it. Thanks everyone! It's true... i only do work on sundays- ride the other 6 I live in the "none zone" - where a majority of people do NOT go to church. PS - stewdogg- Yes, NY/NJ has helmet laws but PA & CT do not.

Congrats on the new bike. Here are some things that smoothed out my buffeting.
1) Classic Chap engine guards...big help 2) Chucksters larger lowers... big help too 3) Half helmet.... little help 4) Made sure my lower windshield was as far down as possible... little help Now I have a great "bubble"...6'2" w/long torso
