New bars, no throttle housing hole?

I bought the Chrome Werks 2+2 Sweeper bars for my Nomad 1600 for a bit more pull back to straighten my posture ...but it seems like aftermarket bars don't have the hole where the throttle housing is supposed to fit into. Is this a Kawasaki only thing? What do people do about this? ...drill the hole? ...or file off the nub inside the housing?

I put 14" Kromeworks on my Nomad and yes , no hole . I drilled a hole so the tab would work . Before you drill the hole , set your handlebars to where they are the most comfortable for you , then put the throttle on and then place the throttle housing where you think it looks the best , mark the hole and drill . I got lucky the first try ..... I wasn't 100% sure that by filing off the tab the throttle housing would stay where it was , even if I tightened it to it's max .

Most of the time, just grind off the little engagement tab.....if the bars are clean, and your housung is correct....no problems with controls slipping. Just a drop of red loctite, between bars and housing....it ain't gonna go nowhere....

Two thumbs up DL... I've ground those little engagement tabs off of all the grip housings in all of my Vulcans. I want to put the grips where I want to put them. Not where Ma Kaw wants me to. This is MY bike.

And I've never bothered with the loctite, and I've never had a grip move on me either.

I want to be able to move the bars up / down to suit my riding style and preference... but keep all the buttons (especially on the Voyager, it has heaps of buttons) where I can reach them all.
