Centech AP2 Fuse Panel (Product Review)
P R O D U C T - R E V I E W
Product: Centech AP2 fuse panel Mfr: Centech, Inc Vendor: Cyclenutz Cost: $51.95 Comments: There are cheaper alternatives when considering an auxiliary fuse panel, but the Centech AP2 has some nice features. The panel has 5 fuses, which are split into 2 sub-panels. This is done to allow the use of a relay to provide switched power to 3 fuses/5 outputs and constant power to 2 fuses/3 outputs. It also has a ground bus for convenience. It has a brushed stainless cover and 3/4" standoffs to maintain clearance between the panel and a metal surface, for instance. Physically, the unit is a little smaller than a deck of playing cards, and is designed to handle a total of 60 amps. Here's a picture of it installed:

Centech AP2 Fuse Panel (Product Review)
Good idea & nice, compact, looking prod. C.J.. I think I might want to look at something like that. I keep splicing into things and that might not be the way to go. Cruise control will be the next thing to find power for. Probably not a big draw but......

Centech AP2 Fuse Panel (Product Review)
Checking out their website, and they have 2 more items that may be of interest:
* Centech AP-130R 30A AP-2 Relay Wiring Kit ($30) Provides the wiring and a relay to feed the AP2 ... should make the wiring job nearly trivial. and * Fuzeblock Fuse Block FZ-1 ($80) Only handles 30A total, but it makes configuring an output between constant and switched as hard as moving a fuse to another slot (lateral move)! That's pretty dang cool! The AP2 + the Relay Wiring kit comes out to almost the same amount as the FZ-1, so both are interesting. --Sam |
