i don't know and I can't tell with out a model part number for which unit you have, and neither can anyone else.
I am not sure it would be wise to double up on controllers. With just the hoppy you can proabably controll thyings on the bike as well as on a trailer if you want, and let the other rig go for sale to a guy who isn't going to try pulling a trailer. Mostly I see no good reason to run both. The hoppy runs itself and then induces the signal to iself and thence down line to what ever. The hoppy insures that if there is a dead short on the trailer it won't take the charging system AND converts to the American system from the Foreign system. A foreign system uses one wire to one bulb filiment for each function and the American system uses 2 hots to cancell the turn signal when the brakes are on.. So any converter/ controller can tell when the sigs are on and a demand for brakes is made, and will convert the foreign system to the American.. The hoppy uses power from the bike to power up other things you have on. best I can do with out more info.

Could i just hook the hoppy before the rtb? I really want to keep the rtb as it illuminates my turn signals as running and brake lights

Yes if you hook the hoppy in before the run turn brake you should be OK
