De-winterized, Nomad back in service
I configured the Nomad as solo this time and went for a short ride yesterday. The motor pulled hard and accelerated with a pleasing roar.

Have to agree 100%. Somehow the lines of the rear fenders and the bags have that "smooooooooth" look that you just don't see on some bikes!
Here's a pic of mine without the beer box. I have to say that elvis' Nomad has a cleaner and less cluttered look without the saddlebag top rails and rear fender rack. Sometimes you can over do it with the chrome. elvis, Now you need to laydown that license plate and ditch the Huffy bike reflectors!

Thank you all for the comments and suggestions. I think that pre-2009 Nomads are Kawasaki's best looking bikes. Vaqueros prove the point.
And I don't mean to offend other Vulcan owners. And yes, I'm biased also . Anyways, I rode in to work today, despite the rain, what a sensation to ride this bike. It'll be my 4th year with Nomad (bought new in Feb. '09) and she fulfilled all my needs: commuting, escaping from work, chasing the sun, hanging out with my wife and traveling far and wide. Looking forward to the new riding season and wondering where Nomad and Suzi will take us this Summer.

Elvis,...glad to hear you're back on the road. Looks like you road up to Hope. The bike looks great. I think about taking the tour pak off sometimes but I have the antennas and wiring and don't want to screw around. Oh and BTW, if you still wonder where your Nomad might take you this summer,...how about your regional rally in July? You and your wife could ride with Hammer and I maybe.

I only rode to Deep Cove to do a quick test ride on the day I insured my Nomad. It was a blast. As far as the rally, I'm working that week although it might change. Also, we have plans to visit family and friends overseas. In short, there are too many variables that come in to play for Summer 2012. So I take one step at a time and see what happens, you know what I mean... Have a great season, ride far, ride often. E. |
