I think you will find they are very hard to come by.
Try a wreckers or Ebay.

ebay has been helpful, of course... Salvage yards (???) not even sure where to even start with that.

Not quite sure what you mean by these Vulcan forums are not more engaging ?
A motorcycle salvage yard in your area can search nationwide for a part you are looking for.
Don't forget you are looking for parts for a motorcycle that has not been in production since 2008 and even when they were in production accessories were not plentiful.

Pretty self explanatory & obvious even here... Activity is dismal @ best! As a former vBulletin website owner & developer, I know all too well peoples preference when it comes to message boards! People still prefer fb over them, which is quite evident with the amount of fb groups and activity still shared there, because it's just plain a simpler platform to engage through! I myself hate fb, which is why I decided to start looking through these sites for unicorns of sorts... Which may be short lived, but hopefully not.

Yes! I expected some difficulty finding parts for a 23-year old bike, just wasn't expecting the lack of accessories

Finally had a chance to discuss this with my mechanic today... He is well aware of this issue, knew there was a time when Kawasaki was covering the cost of this concern & issue... Suggested I contact Kawasaki and provide my VIN to see if there is any record of this repair being done... Confirmed if it isn't and this thing does break that bike will be a total loss vs cost of repair of $2,500... And also told me there is no way to check visually without tearing the engine apart to see, so same price either way... Total BS IMO! Kawasaki should have done a recall!
