Who wants to go hunting??

Wife hit a raccoon yesterday morning with the car. I can tell you that I am not impressed with plastic bumpers after this. Need to replace the whole bumper at a cost of $1150.

Thinking about having a jihad on the raccoon population.

If that bothers you don't ever hit a deer. Double the price to fix the car.

I've hit a deer. A grand total of $10 to fix the car. He slammed into the side and just broke the glass out of the side mirror.

Cars parts are very expensive these days and aren't built to take any type of hit. Sorry to hear about your wife hitting it and causing that amount of damage.

Who wants to go hunting??

about 20 years ago I hit a deer head on. It flew over my truck while towing a boat. It missed landing in the boat by about five feet. Thank god it didn't come through the windshield. It caused 3,000 in damage back then.

Who wants to go hunting??

Deer you say.......

Hit one with a buick about 8 yrs ago. It flew up over the car after front hood and grill damage.

Hit a second one with the buick (7 pointer) about a yr or 2 after the first one. (Good meat and have the rack).

Wife (Pat) hit one that same year with an Altima coming out of MA into Ct. She blames the state troopers. Two were sitting along the side of the Hwy so she slowed up and hit the deer about 1/8 of a mile after seeing the troopers. She said she would've been further down the road if she hadn't slowed up for the troopers.

Pat hit another one with a Subaru. Front end damage.

I hit another one with a Sante Fe. Front end damage.

Damn...........just realized, only got the meat from one.

The rest the deer took off. Looked for a couple of the ones that took off but couldn't find the deer. :(" title="" border="0"/>

Oh well.

TOTAL 5 with cars in 8 yrs.

Joel, I'm thinking you could corner the market on coonskin caps if you do this right and make the roads safer to boot!

You just need to come up with a name for your mechandise line. Racoon Rags. Tire Track Toupe.

Unfortunately the price is about to drop on that commodity because Joel is going to flood the market.

Who wants to go hunting??

By the way, it has been a long time since I was in on a good night time 'coon hunt.

As I remember it I was about 14 with my dad and his friend. The friend owned the coon dogs. We chased a coon from one woods to another across a corn field. We were in the middle of the corn field when the dogs started to come our way so we stood still to see where they would go. No sense in expending energy if we had no idea where the critters were headed.

They kept getting closer and I was getting nervous. Dogs seemed to be right on top of us when dads friend screamed and started running flat out through the corn field knocking down corn stalks as he went. Seems that the coon ran into him and thinking that there might be refuge at the top of that unfamiliar structure the coon proceeded to "tree" on his head. Of course the coon was pissed off, friend was terrified and the dogs were hot on his heals.

Still brings tears to my eyes. Man I miss coon hunting.

Be thankful you're not in Mac's neck of the woods. You'd be dodging moose..
