Trailer Hitch
Looking to put a trailer hitch on the 2015 Voyager. Messed up and bought a Escapade Elite Trailer today. Darn near mint condition. Leaning toward the HitchDoc under the fender hitch. I like the way it bolts to the frame and not the bag supports. Anyone have info on other hitches they like or thoughts on the HitchDoc.

ChuckA Not to be a Negative Nelly and No Offence to your trailering experience But.... Watch your rear height adjustments when towing. I cupped my new front tire last year on a trip down to Smokiers place. Then made it worse this year over loaded and poor togue height. Selling the trailer in the spring, I'm done. YMMV

None taken. I have pulled just about every type of trailer behind just about everything that can tow a trailer,,,,,,,,,,,, except for a motorcycle pulling a trailer. I will learn a lot in a short time but will listen and listen good to anyone with experience.

I couldn't find a hitch that looked strong enough. So i made my own out of 6 mm steel plate. It bolts to the frame, up inside the mudguard. It's rock solid, and makes a good boot scraper too. .

I like the way you made that. I bought the Hitch Doc which bolts on the same way. Really solid but really high priced.

Finally got a picture to upload. New tires and aluminum wheels will arrive tomorrow. Escapade Elite trailer. My boss (company owner) gave me a Christmas gift in the form of a check to pay me back for it. Very unexpected Christmas gift! I love that man like a brother.
Wife says its got to be painted. What do yawl think?

I reckon you got a good boss there mate. I think your wife is right too. Black, with a chrome coach line, on that groove along the bottom. And a chrome rack on the top.

I think you need to buy a convertible with a trunk if you need to haul that much stuff! But then again I’m not a trailer guy.

I reckon you might be missing something there mate. Riding a bike, with just a horse blanket, suit's some blokes. Others have 45ft RV's, with 4 slide outs, and a bike in the garage. In between that, with a bike & trailer, is where i am. Purely a financial decision, i can assure you. In the meantime. I can travel like a tortoise, with everything i need on my back. Also, i find that people show more hospitality, to a bloke on his bike alone. Give it a go.

I think black and yellow go together well and you need all the visibility you can get. Leave it as is. Maybe some black stripes.

Have the trailer wrapped if you want a colour change. It would be quicker and probably cheaper that way. If you change bikes some time down the road you can change the wrap colour to match that bike.

His bike is black. So visibility is probably not high on the list of preferences. Plenty of room for extra lights on the trailer to get attention.
