The cost of attending a KawaNOW National Rally

There is another thread about the benefits, but what about the costs?

I said when I decided to go I was going to use the rally to look into the different mods people have done to their bikes.

Since I came back I have ordered the following.

Venture trunk
Venture backrest for the trunk
Wompus rack
Tourtank
Tourtank install kit
Reckless fairing
Marine speakers for fairing
Lowers from JTD
Sheepskin but pad from alaskaleather

Just looked into buying a zumo, HELLLLLOOOOOOOO sticker shock.

Still need a head unit for the fairing, and get everything painted. DAMNNNNNNN this is getting costly.

Dr moved my july appt up to this morning and I cleared it, now I only have 1 more appt to clear before I 100% commit to the redwoods run. I am beginning to wonder what that's going to cost me. :'(

Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Nobody ever said owning a motorcycle wasn't expensive!

It's a sickness, I tell you, a sickness! After I sunk several thousand samolias into my 2007 Nomad adding accessories, I decided to replace it with a fully loaded bike and just be done with it. The total investment is probably a lot closer than most might think.

Im sure your right Scott, by the time all the fairings and Tour Paks, stereo, and cruise and everything else is installed you look back and realize that youve put a bundle into it.
I;ll be looking for another used bike in the winter, and hopefully I'll find a Nomad with most of the equipment my previous one had.

Look at it this way, at least you got to actually see bikes like yours with the addons you liked, that way it was easier to decide if you actually wanted them or not. Sucks when you envision something for your bike and when you buy it, and after installing you see you really don't care for it.

Canedriver, if you purchase a Zumo online, be certain that the seller is an authorized Garmin dealer. If you purchase a new Zumo from an online auctioner (Ebayer) and he isn't an authorized dealer, you have no factory warranty. None......

Have a look at http://www.thegpsstore.com/ I picked up my Garmin Zumo 220 and delivered to my Canadian address for something like $230. They have sales all the time. Mine was a sale price. I think the reg. price WAS! $500. something when I got mine. I think they're around <s>$300</s> $399. . Nice unit with bluetooth, water proof,
A2DP for a wireless {Sena SMH-10 ?} headset.
http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-Zu...tem-P2326.aspx

Did I say the box came loaded?? Have a peek.....

Each Garmin Zumo 220 comes with: Zumo 220, Pre-Loaded City Navigator North American NT, City Navigator North America NT DVD, Motorcycle Mount With Mounting Hardware, Power Cable With Bare Wires, Automotive Suction Cup Mount, Automotive Power Cable, Lithium-Ion Battery, USB Cable, Dashboard Disk, Quick Start Manual, Installation Instructions, and a One-Year Warranty.
