I tightened up my steering brgs, so while it was apart I stripped the clear coat off the top triple tree and wet sanded it with 2000grit. Then buff the heck out of it. It still has some fine brush finish to it but polished right up like chrome. :) :) :)..cost-0..Bdog

Looks good! I've considered polishing a few parts on my nomad too. But still haven't gotten around to it. Did you use a polishing compound? And you said you used a 2k grit. Is that was you started with? I was considering staring with a 1000 to get out the original lines and then moving up to a 1500 and 2000. Do you think that would be a good idea?

To get the brushed effect out, you would have to start with 600 grit. I wanted to keep the brushed look but wanted it polished too, thats why I gave it a good wet sanding with 2k grit only...John
