2014 Rally Thoughts

Again for 2014 we will be holding a joint rally with our brothers from the North East U.S. We are in the very early planning stages, so here is your chance to speak up as in where, when, weekend or midweek etc.
Due to the generally nicer roads and cheaper gas we probably favour locations in the States.
Larry has posted a similar thread on the North East U.S site, so we will be looking at suggestions from both threads.

This is a copy and paste of the reply I put in our regional board.
Since I am an honorary Canadian I thought it would be OK to post here

Seriously, yes Guy, all brands are welcome.
Sly mentioned the Finger Lakes Region of NY State in the Canada region board.
Finger Lakes are nice and scenic but not a lot to do if you don't like wine tasting.
Our 09 regional was in that area.
If we are going to have it in NY State I would think the Catskill Mountain area would be a good choice.
There is Hunter Mountain where you can zip-line, a motorcycle museum in Newburg and route 97 is also a good road trip.
As for during the week or week end, I think during the week is better.
It is early yet so keep the ideas coming.

Tim,
Are there interesting roads to ride in the area? Also you are a little vague on your preference week days or weekend.

I fixed it Norm, week, during the week I kike better.
Yes there are some pretty good roads.
Not to sure on motels that could handle the amount of people though.
It is a tourist area so rates would probably be better during the week as opposed to weekend.
Like I said, just tossin' it out there.
Tom's idea of NH sounds interesting also.
I guess Tom's idea is in our North East region board

What about the southern part of PA? I did that area on a Long Weekend, and it was great. Fantastic roads and even some wild life
