Thanks for the advice on the battery tender. I got it, 2 minutes to install the leads, works great.

LOL.... Doc is better lookin than I am....
I need no thanks I am just passing on what works well for me.

If you even need a back up charger for the problem of too many batteries try the Shumaker for 17 bucks found at walleyworld.

I have 2 of these. One is dedicated to the bike and the other floats about between a Bob Cat, a plow truck, the van and car.

Needless to say I don't plow except in winter, and with rising costs for fuel, and registration in NH, the plow truck isn't going to get registered just so I can drive to get gas.

The van is older 86' but with only 26,000 on it, and salt rust free, and I plan to keep it that way. My wife drives the car all year long, which we share in winter.

Before the trip across the usa we has 2 cars, but no more. I have access to the Bob Cat, and Toy auto pick up and a 1 ton dump Dodge, so I am not hurting for rides anytime. I maintain ALL of these myself, and there was a Chevy Suburban untill recent times, but these fuel costs are just too much.

I am a X foreign car tech, one that prefers the term mechanic, pre diagnostics computer, and I can still do the diagnostics in my head. I do limited work for others still, but I don't like the newer stuff. Some computer geek designs crap, and with out ever having gotten a speck of dirt under his finger nails.

The result ends as common parts changed often can't be removed with out taking 1/2 the engine apart, and this is so bad today the factories put a big plastic shield over the engine so as to not freak buyers out! One heck of a lot of wasted labor, just to change a simple item.

On a Nomad 05 and up this shows with the battery hold down, as just one example.

For me personally it is easier to pull the gas tank off, and put it on rags on a bench, than it is to pull the dam battery out, which by all rights should be a cake walk, but isn't.

Pulling that battery to me, is about equal to pulling the rear tire.. that just ain't right!
