I know I say they're bullet proof, but

I didn't realize these bikes were hail proof. Last night my baby was in the parking lot of our apartment and a nasty storm came through that included golf ball size hail. I woke up with a start and ran outside to try to bring her in the foyer of the building, but she wouldn't fit. So she had to endure the storm. This morning when I went out, not one ding, dent, nothing.

I knew these bikes were tough, but I didn't realize just how tough! Damn I'm glad I have a Nomad!

That was lucky Jeff.
I'm still waiting to get my car back from hail repair. Supposedly all the dents have been removed, but they are waiting on a part that is preventing them from putting the seat belt back together after removing the headliner. Its coming up on 2 weeks soon and the weather just hasn't been good enough to ride every day.

Jeff,

Sometimes you do luck out. Had the same thing happen with my truck when it was new in 93. Hailstorm came rolling thru middle of the night. Pickup in front of me had $2000 damage, behind me $4,000 damage. Mine did look like a dimple darling. Next day was hot, gave it a wash and kept hearing a noise. It was the dimples popping out. Finished, I only had two that didn't work out.

I believe ya, but it hard to believe.
Even if there weren't any dents you're lucky that
the speedo glass, turn signals or something wasn't busted.

You were just lucky. Those tanks can crumple like a Pabst Blue Ribbon can.

Would appear to be yet another use for the half cover mentioned in another thread.

It's great that this software allows the reprobates among us to edit the quoted content of others, otherwise BD would have to stick to lighting farts to keep himself amused.

I know I say they're bullet proof, but

I know I can always count on BD to come up with more of his gay fantasies. Why don't you just move to S.F., get your rainbow suit on and go march in your parade already!

I definitely got lucky. No problems with any of the glass or signals. I did see that thread about the cover, but I'm working on getting a place with a garage or a way to keep her covered. I don't want to take any more chances.
