Holy cow! Never thought about taking the shoulder in traffic like that, but that's pretty convincing! I was on Signal Mtn today.

I cant see the link at work, but if that is the black truck slamming in right beside the bike that is freaking crazy. That is why as bikers we should always be checking our mirrors. I think I would have dropped the bike and ran when i heard the tires lock up!

I don't know if the guy could have gotten out of the way given how quick it all happened. He was one lucky SOB.

Somebody hollered something about a funeral procession. Dude on the bike was way lucky. The black truck had to be doing close to 50 on impact.

I don't know if that's a southern thing or not but I had a guy visiting me from NJ and we stopped as a funeral passed here in GA and he said he had never heard of that. I never thought about it, maybe its not done elsewhere.

Wow! Obviously a smart move to go to the shoulder in those situations...

Surprised someone didn't beat the living-hell out of the person just on the principle of being an idiot...

Stopping for a funeral procession is a common practice in the rural south. The approaching traffic is to pull off to the side if they are stopping, but often they will simply stop in the lane. In this case, was nowhere to pull over anyway. In the larger cities they have pretty much stopped it, but expect it elsewhere.

They turned the camera off for that. No evidence.

Man that was scary, made me think I need to adopt a side of the road stance when traffic stops...
as far as the butt kikkin, I agree it probably did happen but the camera was off on
purpose.
