Irate Will not idle

I have a 98 Vulcan Classic with 23,000 miles and it wont idle. I have completely gone through the carb new jets accelerator pump and air cut off valve. Could the tps be the issue. I can ride allday but when i come to a light i have to feather the throttle to stay running. It has a hyper charger and straight pipes and im running 40 and 148 jets.

I would take the carb off the bike and give it a good cleaning. It sounds like there may be a plugged passage in it somewhere. You could try adding a half can of Seafoam to the gas first to see if that cures the idle .

After you get the engine hot, can you pull the chock and it still runs fine? What I'm thinking probably a vacuum leak at one on the vac. lines, possibly diaphram. Maybe even intake seal.... Check with carb cleaner until you find it. When you hit the leak, it will idle up.
Could still have a passage clogged on the carb....could also be a simple carb adjustment, also.
When dealing with carbs, you can never clean one too much....

It is possible, although unlikely. It does sound like if it's not what has already been suggested, then it is just probably idling too low, not enough RPMs.

I have to go along with DL, that sounds like an air leak.

I've seen them on carbs and FI's, even a Ford V6 with bad o-rings at
the intake runners.

Usually it's the carb boot, but if you've worked on it I hope it's tight.

Do a plug check and note the color. It almost sounds like an intake vac leak causing the engine to run lean.
With a TPS on EFI, the idle is erratic, goes up and down like it's trying to "find" it's sweet spot. I'd think with a carb, the problem might be more rough running than an idle problem.
You absolutely should ohm out the TPS and make sure you have a smooth transition from minimum to maximum resistance and make sure all the connection are good around it.
Absolutely DO start with a plug check though.
That's what I'd do.
