Key West Trip

Ok, there is some discussion on the 2010 Rally board about a possible trip to Key West for late fall. If anyone is interested, please post here.

I am looking at sometime after football season is over for me, but that doesn't mean that if the group decides something earlier would be better, we can't set that up.

Our last game is November 13, unless the stars align and we make the playoffs...highly unlikely.

I got the head nod from the better half. BUT my schedule is going to reek havoc trying to plan this but i THINK a pre Christmas (10-15 Dec'ish) trip would work for me ...but thats even speculative at this point...

No campgrounds? I think there's a KOA in the Lower Keys. That would be nice time of the year to go. Probably need to secure the date and work on lodging. It's season in December, and the hotels fill up and the prices can be high, especially on the weekend.

We'll call it the first annual Coach A's birthday ride. I'd bring the tequila, but in the Keys we drink rum.

The window after thanksgiving but before the last 2 weeks of December is good for me.
Joe, are you suggesting camping??? WTF!!! But then money that time of year (or anytime of year) is.... well.... it is money and saving some is good! I am open to camping or if someone wants to share a room? The wife has all of her vacation scheduled for this year so it will be just me coming.
Bull, trosco's name is Ross and I am from Jacksonville. The Ocala area is about 2 hours from me and would probably be a place I could meet the rest of you. Looks like everyone else is on west side of state?

Plan on Leeanne and Jim for a Key West trip. I would expect to pick up east coast riders coming down 95 and hook up in Florida City with the rest. Camping would be a plus. FYI - rates just before Christmas are usually lower than right after Christmas.

Aren't there any forum members who want to host a drive-in in the Keys?

No way, it's an ongoing joke on the forum for those who like to sleep outside on the ground and those who prefer the comforts of a bed, AC, and cable TV.
