Gringostarr here Vroc #21543. I'm from Austin,TX.
Had '99 Vulcan Classic and just purchased a Red/Silver 2007 Nomad 2 weeks ago. Had some gigs out in Midland/Odessa so rode out there to start breaking it in. Had a couple of days off and decided to ride out to Ruidoso, NM. Finally back home with 2171 miles. Will probably have to get some risers and a luggage rack. The seat isn't quite as comfortable as my Mustang seat on the Classic, but will do for now. Did experience some buffeting. Raised the windshield as far as it would go and that helped some. What's the deal on that? Are there any after market windshields that improve on that? All in all though, I'm really liking it. Really like this site too. Already have got some questions answered without even having to ask. I'll get some pics up soon and more of my info. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

First of all, welcome to the site and to the Nomad. I have the same model and color that you do and love the bike. I also have changed out the risers to Phatrisers II by Scootworks and put on a Mustang seat for the backrest. Wind buffeting is the easiest to fix. Just get your hands on some Lexan panels and make larger windshield lower panels to replace those anemic originals. I used cardboard to come up with a design, made a set out of 1/4 inch plywood to test the pattern and then cut them out of Lexan. Idaho

As Idaho states Oversize lowers work wonders on the buffeting. Mine are even larger than his. Of course my Green/Silver is faster and better looking!

No problem with buffeting here. Went with Aeromach risers and Mustang Classic seat (wish I got the driver back rest). Cobra luggage rack and light bar. Mustang much more comfortable than stock.

Gringo, after reading back throught this thread I forgot something. You need to watch out for delusional people on this site. They are easy to identify, they ride Green and Silver Nomads.

Welcome Gringostarr. I also bought a 2007 back in August. Great bike. I envy the riding time you've had so far. I'll be lucky to hit 3000 miles by the time snow hits here.
