my cushman scooter
my winter project this year was a 1958 cushman pacemaker custom restoration. it was a real rolling pile of crap when i bought it last year for $350.00. my wife thought i got screwed. i finished it yesterday and took it for a test ride today. it turned out and runs absolutely perfect. i hate to brag but it is impeccable and very fast. after a $5000.00 dollar investment, and many hours of work. it is now powered by an electric start, harborfreight honda clone engine that is higly modified, 400cc, cam , ported, milled head, billet rod, moly push rods 34 millimeter mikuni flatslide, and valve springs. it also has a comet cvt drive. don't ask for pics cuz i don't know how to do them. bill

You have to get some pics. It sounds like quite a project.

Until Bill gets the pics of his scooter posted this may hold you over. It's my pit scooter. A 1956 Cushman step through powered by a big block 8 hp electric start Briggs. Hence the wing on the rear to keep the rear tire planted. I built it from a bare frame. (Notice my dragster is jealous and trying to got in the shot) The scooter will run an 18 second 1/8 mile at 32 mph. I have a barn fresh 1957 Eagle I need to get going. Been thinking of just getting it running and riding it as a rat scooter.

A 1958 Cushman Eagle was my first motor bike. Paid $350.00 for it brand new. Whish I, still had that scooter now or at least some pictures of it.

I always wanted a Cushman Eagle..they were very popular in Alabama in the late 1950's (yeah, I'm old). Would love to have one as well....

But here's how I post a pic. I download my photo's on photobucket. Then...when you click reply at the top where it says 'add tags'.....see the little picture above of a picture....between the world and the envelope. You have to copy a pic from photobucket (be sure and resize so the 'you're pics are too big' cops don't get you)...then you click on the little picture thing (when you scroll over it - it says insert image). Next you put your blinking curser between the 2 sets of brackets that appear and select paste this time. Make sure you only have one set of [IMG] thingys on each side of the pic. I usually then click preview to see if it worked. Hope this helps. I'm also not the best at explaining things. If my explanation is a litte confusing maybe on of these here computer geeks we have on here will jump in. ;)
