wiring question

I got my reckless fairing with radio and speakers already mounted with 12v plug.
Where do i tie into the wiring to make this work,so the stereo stays with the preset settings Thanks.

How many wires to that 12v plug? If it's just +/-, you're going to want to connect it to a constant power source to retain the memory and clock functions of the stereo. That would be directly to the battery or to one of the accessory connectors present in the bike wiring.

If there are more than 2 wires to that plug, one is probably ground, one is for constant +12v and the other is for switched +12v so the stereo turns on and off with the ignition. If that's the case, then you would want to wire up a relay to provide the switched +12v supply.

I did my own wiring for my Reckless fairing so I have no idea how they come if it's pre-wired.

Ah, okay.

Wire marked "ignition" would go to a +12 v switched source.
Wire marked "pos battery" would go to a +12v constant source, as I mentioned earlier.
The third wire should be self-explanatory.

For the +12v switched source, I would use a relay triggered by either your front marker light circuit or the taillight circuit, depending on where you want to make the connection.
