Done for the season ?

Last year my final ride of the season was on November 8th.
This year my final ride of the season was on November 15th. Maybe !
As of today my total for this year is 22,960 miles of smiles.
Hope some of my NCR friends were able to get out this past weekend, the weather here was nothing short of spectacular for this time of year.

I'll be riding through December, but I'll still be about 5,000 behind you for the year! Color me jealous!

I don`t keep track of mileage either, but I start as soon as possible, usually in March or April, and go until the snow and salt arrives.

I envy you. I've ridden maybe 25 miles total since July of last year.

You ride too much. Go get a job, will you!!

Over the last two years I have just at 16,000 on my 2014.

I hope I can average more than 8,000 per year moving forward. It is less than I used to ride before my health issues, but not by a huge amount. I can only be a weekend (or a long, three-day, weekend warrior because I cannot ride to work -- unfortunately.)

However, when talking to other riders, I am hearing most are not putting very many miles on their bikes. Some of their reasons I can understand, but for the others I haven't figured it out. Maybe they just don't care to ride as much. That's possible; but hard to believe for me, who likes to ride as much as I can.

Lastly, I have been in a bit of a war with my dealer. They scratched my tank when they tightened my fork; which was getting loose (something I am monitoring, since my bike is the first year for HD's new, heavier fork). Anyway, the battle was getting heated, verbally and via email messages.

The service manager finally told me they do an inspection on the bike before service so that's why they know they didn't scratch it.

So, I asked him to fax the inspection report to me, because it should say there was a scratch. I was extremely p!ssed by this time.

A few hours later, the service manager emailed me and said they would pay to repaint my tank. He didn't say anything about the inspection report. Evidently the scratch wasn't noted on it. Either way, they are having the tank painted. I am a bit more happy about it now.

I can't imagine putting the bike up for any length of time. MOVE SOUTH! I will slow down a bit in colder weather, 40 and above, but we have only a couple of months where riding can get choicey and roads can be slick from water run-off turned ice. Snow is rare. Otherwise, leathers and go.

14k for the year, still riding here and there. Rode Sunday afternoon all over the place, rode to work today. As long as it is 40ish in the morning and 60ish in the afternoon I will ride. Heated gear helps considerably.

Am meeting a friend for breakfast tomorrow morning at a place about an hour from my work.
Anticipated temperature at KSU will be 18°. This ride will put me over 23, 000 for the season.
Possibly the last ride this year.
