My #2 son is going to be signing a partial scholarship to attend OPSU (Ok. Panhandle State Univ), a Division 2 school out in Goodwell, OK. He wants to go there for agricultural studies and they have seen fit to give him some money toward his education for playing. He will also be getting some academic scholarship money too.

So we are pretty happy about this development. Plus, he gets to do the obligatory "Signing Day Press Conference" thing, lol.

Cool! Congrats!
Both of my older sons son scored full ride scholarships but I was surprised at how much more coin it takes over and above to make sure they have everything they need.
My youngest is a Junior in High School and I keep telling him the pressure is on! lol

#2 doesn't know it yet, but he will be retaking his SAT and ACT to see if he can eek out a couple more points for about $1000 in scholarship money. I'll study him up real good for that.

#3 is working on his way too. He is prototype sized for a OT, 6' 6", 270. He has to get quicker and strong though. Gotta take his vitamins ;)

Congrats to your kids, coacha. I know you're proud of them.

My daughter, who is the oldest got her college education from the Pell grant. She became a 3rd grade teacher.

My middle son went to Junior College and became a Respiratory Therapist. No big expense there.

My third son, who just got married made up for the other two. He got a scholarship, but it wasn't a full ride baseball scholarship (Are there any full ride baseball scholarships?...maybe not) and it cost me plenty in education loans to make up the difference.

But what the hell....it's just money.

Congrats to your son (and you)! Any free money helps I tell ya.

I have two in college now. Got a few more years before they are done.

Yeah, I've sure that you've got him pushing that sled around quite a bit too.

Congrats on Son #2.

Congratulations to you and your son!

College always seems to be the biggest worry - it will be nice to have that relief.

It's also nice they recognized his talent enough to put a price on it

Way to go Coach, I wish the best for him. Glad he is looking at AG also; not many people doing it and we all need it. It is where our food and conservation come from!
Trip, a good highlight to "full ride scholarships for baseball" is this. My son went to University of Miami for baseball. There were 13 scholarships. But for football there were over 70 in various amounts. It was a big let down.

He wants to go into some part of the cattle business. Hey, he won't be coming home on the weekends, lol.
