Disappointed with Dunlop!

Bought dunlop 404 and cruisemax whitewall tires last time and they lasted about 6000 miles and about a year on my 2004 1500. Pretty disappointed! Any other good ww tires out there for the nomad or I am stuck with dunlops that last so short a period of time?

Thanks!

dale

6k is all I ever got out of a rear mc tire. If your interested in the dark side, you might check for a gangster white wall in one of the recommended car tires. I think a more expensive mc tire will give you more miles, but I also think it comes out to about the same price per mile.
Thanks for your time.

Keep in mind that with a car tire (dark side) you will only have whitewalls on one side of the tire. Rule that option out.

Ive had a few sets of Dunlop D404's, and I get a lot more mileage than that out of them. Always over 10k on them so far.
I did switch to a car tire, and its has about 15k on it and still looks new.

Good point erock1. I didn't know they changed gangster white walls. When they came out in the late 60's they were white on both sides on biasply so they could be flipped if they got scuffed. That's one of the things that may happen if you get old, things change and its hard to keep up :-) Cancel the CT idea.
Thanks for your time.

If you want a WW car tire try Coker tire, they make tires for all the antique and classic cars. I think you could order one there that is whitewall on both sides as well. You can also get stick on whitewalls that sandwich between the rim and tire. I'm not sure if I'd try that route in case it ever came off and got tangled in the swingarm.

It must be our riding style or something. My last tire was a Dunlap 404 and I only got 6,300 miles before the wear bars were popping. Went to a car tire and won't go back to MCs. I understand why the CT might not work for you with the white walls and all, but if you can live without the WW's????

Dunlops

I have always ran the Dunlops because I get good mileage out of them. I just put my 8th rear on (last two were WWW Cruisemax) and I got almost 14,000 out of each one. I usually change the front every other time. Dunlops are cool in my opinion.Ya'll must ride different than I do.

I have these on my 99 Nomad, and the ride and handling is great! They only have about 1000 miles on them, so can not speak of longevity as of yet.

I want my Dunlops to wear out so I can change to Dunlop White Walls! Ok, going to do it anyway this Spring before ride to National rally. I have put 15,000 on rear tire so far and it looks great. Types of roads / surface makes a huge difference in how long they last. Zoom45, your bike convinced me I want the white walls, looks great.

Irate Cruisemax WWW

The best price I could find on the Cruisemax WWW was here: ($139.00)
http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/

I found a couple of other places with the same price and free shipping but I couldn't find it any lower.

This was another:
http://www.jakewilson.com/p/52/-/343...max-Rear-Motor

Ron Ayers is a little cheaper:
http://www.ronayers.com/ProductDetai...079/SKU/451241

Looks like they went up since I ordered mine earlier this month.

I used to get the Dunlops for $99.00 a tire up until about two years ago. A lot of tires here in Canada can cost about $250.00 each. That was a big part of my going to the darkside.
