SoCal ride: Sunday Feb. 17th
Hey all,
Myself and Rich Lockyear (BTK forum; LAVROC forum; and LCR forum) are assemblying a ride the morning of Sunday, Feb 17th starting from either Camarillo or Santa Paula and going to Carpenteria (just south of Santa Barbara for breakfast) then up Hwy 154 and into Solvang for lunch, and back. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll keep you posted, or check out the ride thread here: http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...ocal-ride.html Looks like 8-10 bikes so far, some 2-up others not. All are "sane" riders and "good, clean fun people". Hope to see you there, Daryl Login or Register to Remove Ads |

You made friends with Rich Lockyear? He's very knowledgable from what I see. He should buy a Nomad and come here and work with BD in the garage. Of course Doc can still work the tire machine.

BD,
Rich and a couple other have a couple of staging points between Point A and Point B, so contact him and get on board with this. Should be a fair amount of riders. The final meeting point is in Fillmore, then we're going thru Santa Paula, up and over thru Ojai, west to the coast and then north to Carpenteria for breakfast. After that, it's on to Solvang for lunch and probably some "Tom Foolery", then limp back home around 3-ish. http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...tml#post984719 Contact Rich or write back and I'll get you dialed in... that is, IF you have the Nads to ride with us??? Well, it was a fantastic day of riding. Met up with the gang, as scheduled, at 730 in Fillmore, went thru Santa Paula, up and over thru Ojai, over to the coast, up to Summerland (Santa Barbara-ish) for a great breakfast, then on to Solvang.
Saw a REALLY cool Motorcycle Museum in Solvang; very impressive collection. From there, down the 154 to the ColdSpring Tavern for tri-tip sandwiches, with the final stop at The Sagebrush Cantina in Calabasas. TONS of m/c's there; parking lot filled with 'em. I was the shortest leg of the trip and I logged 255 miles! Man, what a day of riding and some beautiful scenery (mountains, pacific ocean, etc) Ya'all need to come next time!!! DS |

Here's some pix of the 2/17 ride. We found an awesome motorcycle museum in Solvang. For $5, was sure worth it. I'm the studliest one, with the wicked head scarf on...

Great pictures. Wish some others from the board lived closer to me. I ride with GW guys and a Retreads group here locally.
