Horn Question, not Stebel
Hey I just got a new catalog in the mail. It has a horn in there made by Fiamm. It is called the freeway blaster. Gives out 132 decibels at 12V and 10A.
I believe the Stebel gives out 139 decibels and is 12V at 18A. My question is could I just hook this freeway blaster up to my existing horn wires without messing with a relay or extra fuse? Thanks for any help.

Horn Question, not Stebel
I believe the horn circuit on the bike is fused at 10 amps. You don't want run something at 100% of a circuit's rating. A louder horn is going to require more current. I'd wire it the same as you would a Stebel. Use the stock horn wiring to actuate the relay and power the horn with a dedicated fused circuit from the battery.

Horn Question, not Stebel
I put a Freeway blaster on my 01 FI classic and used the horn wiring without any problems. Never blew a fuse. We have the Stebel air horns on both of our bikes using a relay circuit with a 15 amp fuse so I don't believe they are 18 amp. We have been running them that way for several years.

Horn Question, not Stebel
I've never blown a fuse on my Stebel circuit, and I believe it's a 15 amp fuse.

Watchman, since you have had both could you tell me how the freeway blaster compares to the stebel? Thanks.
