Forum Navigation Question

I've been reading forums for many, many years and there is one thing with this forum software that I just can't figure out how to make happen.

I don't have time to read the forum as much as I used to so I find myself going several pages into the general forum board reading topics that interest me. So, I come across a thread that is very popular and has many pages within it. So when I'm done reading the topic I'm now 3 or 4 pages deep into the general topic board and then I'm 7 pages deep into the thread, and I want to get back to the last page of the general board I was on (the 4th one). I hope everyone is still with me....

So, if I click the quick link at the top of the thread to go to the "Nomad/Motorcycle Related Topics Board" I go to the 1st page of the board...and now have to go forward to the 4th page again. That gets old if you read a lot of long threads.

The only other option I've found is to use the browser buttons to back page through all 7 pages of the thread. It's not too bad if there is one page...or even 2...but much past that it starts to get old.

Someone please tell me that I'm just missing a simple link that takes me right back to the last page of the message board I was on from anywhere within the current topic thread. There's got to be an easy way to do this.

At the bottom of the topic page there is the navigation link that lets you jump to the pages in the topic/thread. They need to have two of those down there. One that tracks the page of the board you are on in addition to the one tracking the page of the topic. Then you could quickly "jump" within the thread or within the message board.

Forum Navigation Question

Rather than trying to go back one page at a time using the "Back" button on the browser try the "Recent pages." That should be a downward pointing triangle just to the right of the "Forward" button. Click on that and you should get a drop-down list showing the last 8 or so pages in the order you have been on them. Click on one near the bottom of that list and you will go back to that page, bypassing the others above it. Play with it some and it may help you out some.

The sad thing is, I work in IT and I've never used that little triangle between the forward button and the URL link. That's pretty sad....

Bob,

You are my new hero. I have only been using computers daily for about 15 years....you just saved me a bunch of time! With all that extra time I could have gone to Custer!

Thanks!

Forum Navigation Question

Is there any chance of making the "new" button for topics a little larger? Or moving most of the stuff above the thread, below the thread? This seems unique to this forum. Most others I visit, I don't have to scroll down a whole page in order to start reading.
