Friday May 13 - Port Dover
There is only one Friday 13th this year. Are any on the members planning on attending.
For those that are not familiar; every Friday 13th bikers from all over meet in the tiny town of Port Dover on the shore of Lake Erie (about an hour and a half north of Buffalo) on the Canadian side. Last August was the 50th Friday and about 15,000 bikes were there with about 150,000 people in attendance. Love to hook up with some of "ya' all". (that's my southern talk)

Last time I was there early May and it was bloody cold!!! still.
This year from the weather predictions it will be again? Not sure I want to pry my fingers off the grip again getting off to get fuel. However this time I have a fairing and soft lowers so would be a bit warmer. May have to see!!! Couldn't go last year :( Depends on time/$ and weather ??? Always entertaining, but a ZOO. Not sure I want to sit in traffic for an hour waiting to get into the city. If I can go up night before like I've done in the past maybe? Day off?? If my buddy is going this year he may have rented a house downtown (did a few years back) so will contact him and see. If I go hope to see you and some other forum members there. Scott

I will be attending. Leaving from Hamilton. If someone wants to meet me along the way, I would be happy to ride with them. It is a 45 ride from where I am.

Cindy and I were traveling through Canada last August. Kept seeing lots of groups of bikes on the road. Didn't know about the Fri the 13th thing till later. I was hot as hell and humid. Almost had to shed the gear, almost.

Know what you mean Scott - on the other hand a year ago November it was so warm that we had our jackets off and just our vests as we rode back to Brantford.
It is a zoo and we usually go early in the morning and have breakfast down there before the "rush". Last August I left early to head out to Niagara to pick up my new Nomad later that day and the line up to get into town on Hwy 6 was miles long and I pittied all the folks lined up - at was about 1:00PM But it is neat to see all the bikes and in some cases the "oddballs".

Yes if I go it will be EARLY....like 5-6AM on the road and get there for breakfast like you.
I'm a bit farther away so have to leave EXTRA early and not only to get there but get through the TORONTO traffic I mean the biggest time of the journey THERE will be that part. Leaving to go HOME I'd just leave LATER (as still traffic on the way home) It's a long day for sure, which is why it would be nice if could go night before and leave Saturday, but we'll see. Scott

I doubt I'll be going this year, I have no days off left and If I call in sick they will know why, since a few of us ride at work. Its something to see if youve never been, but it does get very crowded down there.

Your right it is crazy - but I like to go just the same. Too bad we can't meet up there.

Steve, Try these out.
•Are you a danger to others? •Are you contagious? •Will you be productive? •Symptoms to help you decide ◦Sniffles, sneezes, fever and coughs ◦Back pain ◦Headaches and migraine ◦Earache ◦Pinkeye ◦Sprains and Strains ◦Poison Ivy What's a good enough reason to call in sick? If you wake up feeling sneezy, sleepy, dopey and grumpy, as if you've turned into nearly all of Snow White's dwarves overnight, you might be wondering whether you should tough it out or just stay home. Here's some advice on how to tell when your symptoms warrant staying at home - or when you have to roll out of bed and get to work. #1 Good reason to call in sick: You're a danger to others "You have to ask yourself the key question: Are you a danger to yourself or to others? #2 Good reason to call in sick: You're contagious Contagion is another critical deciding factor - but not always an easy one to determine. But it pays to err on the side of staying home "if you work in close quarters with your co-workers - or you work with elderly or small children or people with cancer or chronic conditions -those are the most vulnerable people in our society," "A minor nuisance of an illness to you could be fatal to them." (Check out the symptoms below to help you determine contagiousness.) #3 Good reason to call in sick: You won't be productive Red, Itchy Skin Depression Obstructive Asthma Common Cold, Diarrhea, Strep Throat Take your pick...

I can see that the name Loafer is well deserved.

There is a difference between deserved and earned. I like to think I earned it.
