Spark plugs

I pulled one of my spark plug wires off this morning and the spark plug does not have the little cap that is supposed to be on the end....Is this normal
the bike is a 1600 and runs fine ...I was going to try the iridium plugs..

Most of the bikes made now days do not use that little screw on cap. When you push the wire onto the plug you usually can "feel" the threaded portion making contact.

My 1500 dont have caps on them either if it runs good dont sweat it. You can replace the tops of the wires easy enough if you think the fit is loose.

These bikes don't use the screw on plug caps. Inside the plug end resistor is a brass like thing with a carbon steel hair pin that can rust and go away though. And the brass thing will turn green and nasty if rain water isn't properly drained thru the drains. Wasps make mud nests in my drains too, %^$ &*^% but with a pipe cleaner i can mop them out. These are the holes you see just above the cam chain tensioners .

The iridium plugs will have that cap on them. Just grab the cap, gently, with a pair of pliers and give it a little twist and it will break it loose, then unscrew by hand.
