Goodby Naomi

Naomi, my trusty, usually, 2000 Red/Silver Nomad has found a new owner. A gentleman from Monroe, WA came by Friday evening and decided that he could give her a good home. He was going to take delivery yesterday afternoon, but Namoi didn't want to leave. (She wouldn't start.)

So, I told the new owner that I would take her to our local Kawai mechanic and have him go over her and make her right as rain. Guess, what...she started this morning without much coaxing...obstinate broad.

Anyway, I'm still taking her to the shop for some diagnosis and a spring tune up. Then into the arms of her new lover. She has been a good lady to Miss Nancy and I for the past four years and should give her new owner many years of good and faithful service.

So, now I'm just a Nomad lover who rides a V2K. As nancy said last night, it was the best looking bike we've ever owned and her favorite. But, Nancy will learn to love the new one too.

I always feel a little saddened whenever I sell a bike to get a new one. I think of all the great memories that were made on the seat of that bike. Of course, the sadness doesn't last long because I realize there is a new bike waiting to make new memories with!
Enjoy the V2K, it's a sharp bike.

John,
Glad you found a good home for your old ride. Hopefully you turned the guy on to KawaNOW and the forum here. Heck...you might even end up on group rides with your old bike! That would be a little strange, but we could sure use some more new blood in our NW section and Monroe is close to both of us! I'd be happy to touch base with him if you prefer....let me know... ! You gonna make it down to schoeney's with us May 2-3...??

I've given him several pointers and KawaNOW is one of the first. Yep, would be strange riding with my old scoot.

Unfortunately, it isn't looking good for heading south with you guys. The nursery is struggling and Nancy is nervous about not being available.

You'd have a hard time getting me off a Kawasaki. So far I've owned a 1972 S2 350 Triple, 1974 KZ400 twin, 1975 Z1B 900, 2000 VN1500 Nomad and now a 2006 VN2000LT. They just keep getting better and better.

Congratulations John! I know it's hard to do, but this darn economy makes having life's "extras" harder to do!!!! I sure do wish I could have owned her, but your distance from me kinda scared me for taking delivery. I'm sure her new rider will take excellent care of her!!!

Sorry to hear that you gave up your faithful ride, but like you the V2K is one of the very few bikes that could possibly get me off my 2000 Nomad. I took a Vulcan 2000 for a test ride last year and 125 cubic inches of power and torque is way too much fun to ignore.
