Thanks for the advice. I was not familiar with the Audiovox system.

CJ found a great deal on some about a year or so ago. If you look around at some auto parts stores, you can find it. Not super difficult to do but it does take some time and some engineering. If you go this route, just check the archives for some of the install threads and you will be able to keep from having some issues.

Gadget's page has an excellent step-by-step procedure on installing the Audiovox system. It isn't difficult, but it is time consuming. The end result is an automotive quality cruise control that works great.

And keep in mind, carolina, that the ones most of us installed (Audiovox, I mean) were of the vacuum-operated variety, which I believe has been discontinued at this point. Not 100% sure on that, but I know they have a 'new and improved' version which claims to be all-electronic; hence no need for a vacuum chamber, vacuum servo, etc.

I'd have to think the 'new' version would be a much cleaner install.

Still gotta figure out the issue with my Audiovox cruise control. I think there is too much slack in the throttle cable. Right now, I just wanna get out and ride! LOL

Those new style cruise controls sound like they may be more accurate with a wider VSS range. However they come with a steering shaft control stick rather than a control pad. Unless there is an optional control pad available it may be hard to to mount on a bike so that it looks like a factory installation.

Here it is on Amazon. If you scroll down you can by it with a dash mount panel.

Thats good to see that a control pad is available, however its a lot pricier than the old style units. A few of us got lucky when the older units were put on clearance sale price a while ago.

Throttle lock from Scoot Works, and throttle boss on Kuryi grips, like them both, really helps the carpal tunnel

I'd like to know how it would interface with the Nomad's VSS. It would be a lot cleaner install, and worth the money I would think.

I have the Audiovox vacume type and paid $113.00 " IN CANADA " all in. That new unit would be at least $300.00. For that price I would get the dealer to install one.
