brake pedal

I know there are Nomad owners who have switched out brake pedals from the OEM Nomad pedals to another make/brand pedal for more room. But I don't remember which one people were going to. Can someone help?

I believe you are looking for a Drifter brake pedal, Rick.

I made this bracket to accept any HD pedal (touring models). These pictures are old and I'm using a different pedal now, but the bracket is the same.

brake pedal

I tried the drifter pedal on my 1500 and it does give move room about an inch and a half. But I eventually went to the aftermarket one by scoot works that moves the pedal more forward.

brake pedal

I sent out an email on this just a while ago. I used the Kuryakyn 8850. What I did is removed the pedal, removed the pad, positioned the top part of the Kury pedal, drilled an extra hole and done. I can't remember if I used longer bolts, I don't think so. Others have done this now too. A couple of years back a rider named Lupi sent me pics. If you check the Kury website you will find it matches very well with 7022 floorboard covers.

It does not give much more room though.

Any pics of this mod? I've got a Kury pedal, and need some more room.

A friend of mine has a Drifter that's been in pieces for years. I'll have to check with him to see if he want's to sell the pedal, if he still has it. Major engine problems with his. He finally got tired of tearing it down.

Sorry phred, I posted a bit too quick. The Kury 8850 will not give you more room, just a better looking pedal. PM me with an e-mail addy and I will send you a how to and pics for it though.
