It's because of the bearings in the compressor motor, if I remember correctly. It's stated right in the installation instructions.

Stebel Compact SUPER Chrome Air Horn
Hi folks! I'm new here, but i'll post here first... i own a suzuki m50, and a suzuki vstrom 650- i mounted Wolo Bad Boy on both- which is similar (i think it's made by the same company), but has 20 db less than the stebel. You could NOT tell - it is crazy loud! Here's my youtube:



I will mount one on my future Nomad

Used it today when a idiot on a cell phone came into my lane and almost hit me...scared the snot out of them, but they got back over where they belonged...cell phones have got to be one of the most dangerous things ever invented!!!

Did you have to use a relay with the horn or just plug the old horn wires to it?

Did you have to use a relay with the horn or just plug the old horn wires to it?
It comes with a relay. I bought an easy wiring kit on Ebay- very good quality wiring harness, made the installation a snap!
