Yeah, there was a guy here in Denver selling a lift for $75.00, which I thought would be a pretty good deal, until I called him up and found out it had been used once. 10 years ago. I had visions of cracked seals an hydraulic fluid all over the garage.

Just go to Kawasaki.com. In the order space under "Special Instructions" put "youhavegottobekidding". Brand new Voyager or Vaquero for less than $5000 including tax/destination.

I figured, being the "owner" of bRowndodge's Garage you'd have plenty of lifts. Shows what I know, eh Brad?

Tim it is a good idea to jack the bike up once and a while, if only to see if anyone has been shooting arrows at your tire.

I have the same lift. I found it difficult to control the jack release speed.(lowering the bike) I drilled and tapped the release pedal and used a bolt threaded into the pedal so it touches the lift frame. adjusted the bolt to allow the pedal to move a short distance and lowers the bike at a speed I like. Used a nut to lock the bolt in place.

Good to know. I had read that if you press the pedal down a little it would come down fast; press it down all the way and it would come down slow(er). Didn't really seem to make sense with the little I know about hydraulic jacks. This looks like a better idea.

That is correct. Press pedal all the way down quickly and the bike lowers slowly. Press it a little and the bike comes down rather quick. Caught me by surprise. You would think it would be the other way around.

I read this on another forum (not Nomad related...I'm NOT a traitor ) but still good to be reminded of it. I can just picture getting the bike all done, freshly washed, chrome shining just to have it hit the ground and fall over on the right side. or Would be just after I completed my fairing, too I'm sure.

The instructions state that as well. I would rather have the jack work the way I want it to work. Not having to think about how much to push the pedal. Slow and predictable is what I want with ANY bike on the lift.
