Good Times Protection Plan Extension

I just received an offer to extend my original 4 year GTPP another two years, but the $583 price seems pretty steep. I checked Fremont Motorsports for a possibly lower price, but found no info on this extension. In fact, none of their listings on Ebay are less than $760 now, so maybe they are no longer discounting the Good Times Protection Plans.

It's a gamble. These bikes are known to be solid, long lasting bikes. But, when something happens, you can count on it costing a lot to repair. For example, Mark with only 24K miles on his bike is having up pay $2700 for repairs for something that could be covered under warranty, if he had it.

If you plan on holding onto the bike for a while, and put a lot of miles on it, I see it as a good investment.

When I purchased my 2011 Nomad I bought the 4 year extended plan. Got it for $480. Felt it was well worth it.

4 years for $480 sounds like a good deal. I never purchased an extended warranty. As a matter of fact I have never purchased one for anything. Guess I like being on the edge. My Nomad seems solid and strong. I'm just hoping never to have any major problems with it.

My brother is my warranty, If I can break it he can fix it
If you don't have one of those then I would definitely look into a extended warranty

My bike had an extended warranty still on it when I bought the bike. I called Kawasaki and they said there was no warranty work ever done on the bike since it left the dealership.

I purchased the 4 yr Kawasaki plan from the dealership with the Nomad. I paid $600. Not long after, I heard about Freemont selling them for a little over $300. Now they are $760. My extended warranty has replaced 3 leaking shocks and my pinion seal began leaking again at the SC Rally and then stopped. First time it leaked was at the Custer National and factory warranty covered it when I returned home. This time, it was dripping a very small amount of gear oil from the rubber boot and then stopped completely. Extended warranty will cover this. I've got nearly 2 yrs left before it expires. It's worth the money IMO.

First post, thanks for having me along. Picked up a 2009 Nomad with 4800 miles this past Saturday. On topic, the factory warranty expires end next month. I was cruising looking for the best deal on the GTPP and found it on the COG forum. Got a 4 yr GTPP today for $419 (100 per yr plus $19) at Ultimate Cycle in Richmond, VA. Call the shop, 804-330-4800, x110 and ask for Pete in sales. You have to still be under warranty.

The warranty is more than worth it! I got mine and they paid $3500 to replace gears and most of my transmission, plus other problems that surprised me. I more than got my money's worth out of the warranty and highly recommend that everyone get it. You never know when your bike is going to be that one that has big problems.
