Batwing fairing is on!
After getting a great deal from Glenn (petenomad) on his premeux fairing last December, and having to wait for a co-worker fix it up and then have it painted black to match, it's on! I love how it looks, and it's fantastic to be able to listen to tunes while I ride. And even though it hasn't been all the cold in the mornings here in MN (finally!), I can tell that having the fairing will help keep my hands much warmer than with the stock shield.
I've been waiting almost 5 months for this, I'm psyched!

Really happy that worked out for you! I was starting to wonder if it went totally south.

Looks great. I saw that fairing when it was on Glenn's bike and it is a quality piece. You know what they say " once you've had a fairing you will never go back"

Thanks all! I will take a few more pics today and post them up soon.
Glenn, Yeah, it just took my co-worker a while to get motivated to get the repair & prep done. The minor crack was no problem, he actually had that done back in January, but then when he sanded down the two-tone paint, he ended up having to mud the pinstripe, and I kind of think he just really didn't want to tackle it. That being said though, he did do an excellent job repairing it and blending the pinstripe void. Funny part is, once it was glassed, mudded, and primed, which took almost 5 months, a buddy of mine who owns a body shop had it painted and polished in 2 days...hehe Mike, It definitely is a quality piece. I like the fact that Glenn had sent 2 windscreens to choose from, although I don't know that I like the shorty that much other than it looks cool. The downside to that one is that its almost like riding without a windshield at all and I can't hear the music that well vs. the 9" recurve. So I've been using the recurve after the 1st day. I think your saying is correct, since even when I was prepping to put the fairing on, I took my windshield off and took a ride. I forgot how much you get beat up by the wind without anything, and the fairing is even better than the windshield! I'll never go back! Don, Was it you who posted that you had made some custom ape hangers? I have rivco risers on now, and while the fairing fit just fine with those on, I'm unable to use the radio splash cover, so I'm considering going with 10 or 11" apes. Not to mention putting my arms in a more comfortable position. Glenn has thought that the splash cover wouldn't work with risers, but I figured I'd give it a shot with 'em on anyway. But, now I'm leaning more and more toward the apes and going back to the stock risers. Shoot me a pm if that was you, Thx!

Ben,..The bike/fairing looks great ! You've got good taste.
Mine isn't "the Cadilac" of fairings,.... Mine is {just}a Harley fairing. No doubt a trunk/tour pak will be next. You might want to get a pair/set of these "dragonfly" vents. Maybe they won't fit your fairing, I don't know. But They really help with the wind and give you that much more deflection if you want/need it. They open easily and redirect the air if you want too. A wider custom windshield came with my fairing that I bought second hand. {thanks again "strobe"} It helps a lot too!! If you're still looking for a windscreen .....

Haha! Yeah, Rick, we have very similar bikes. save for the tour pak. Funny you mention the dragonfly wings; Glenn actually had a set included with the fairing, and I just put them on last night. I didn't notice much difference with them on, but I did remove the lowers last night to reposition the fairing and haven't put them back on yet, so that might be why the wings didn't have any noticeable effect.
I had originally wanted a harley fairing, mainly for the possibility of adding heads-up gauges, but it seemed like a lot of messing around to get it to fit. Maybe not so much to take on for some, but for me...too much tinkering. A tour pak may be a possibility in the future, but I'll probably just "rough it" with a sissy bar bag for now.
