Yup. If you want a really good shirt, get an LD Comfort shirt. They are specifically designed for keeping you cool through evaporation. They make great riding undershorts to wear. No swap ass.

Best hot weather, long ride, shirt for me is a long sleeved Columbia brand shirt.
They sell them around here (Houston) at the Academy stores.
Fishermen like them.
It's has good ventilation and the sweat evaporates to keep me cool.
Also, I don't ride much more than an hour without stopping for water, especially if the wife is on board.

Scott, I grew up in Pasadena/Deer Park area. I moved here about 8 years ago. I was crazy excited when Academy finally opened a store here a few years ago.

Ordered a Colorado Coolvest this weekend. Along with my shorter windshield setup it should be nice and comfy-cool.

Also ordered a nice looking Bell Custom 500 Helmet w/bubble shield.

Got my Colorado Coolvest in and tried it this weekend in maybe 95-98dg heat.

First I wore it under my leather vest and even with limited wind flow it was noticeably cooler. On the way home I unbuttoned the leather vest and with all the wind hitting the Coolvest it was REALLY nice and cool.

Next time I am going to try it under a Mesh jacket. And then maybe just the Coolvest over a t-shirt.

Thanks for the recommendation - this thing seems to have been a worthwhile purchase.

In combination with the shorter windshield and more airflow, I am a LOT more comfortable.

I also really like the Bell Custom 500 helmet!
