Heh. I don't care if I scratch the paint. I bought the bike to ride, not look at. :)
I'll be cautious until I get used to it. I understand it leans "differently". I've ridden bikes with car tires but haven't owned my own yet. (Until today.) I'm gonna go sit out in the driveway and try to scrub off some of that slick shit before I drop off the tire at the shop. I'll ride the bike up in between thunderstorms. Glad it's only a few miles. Thanks again for the advice.

Actually, riding a new tire in the rain is the best way to clean all that crap off, just don't be making any sudden maneuvers.

I almost didn't have a choice today. The dealer installed the new tire (as well as bent a saddlebag hinge and scratched up a piece of tupperware...should be fixed Thursday). The weather forcast called for rain but I thought I'd ride anyway. 30 mph winds along with the incoming rain made me reconsider. I'll go out tomorrow and put a couple hundred miles on her.

I need a new rear tire and have been giving the darkside some thought. Even more since the local stealer quoted me $600 for Metz front and rear and was happy to tell me he gave me an $86 discount! I got four new Coopers on my Ranger and new Cooper rear tires on my street rod for that. Oh and a scotch brite pad is good for scuffing a new tire.
