Kawasaki Garmin 550 Mount Question

Anyone have any experience with the Kaw OEM handlebar billet mount for the Garmin Zumo 550 (for Vaquero and Voyager). It is pricey and I'm just curious to see if there is much experience out there with it.

Don't have any experience with that. I just run a rammount system and it works fine for me.

My Zumo 550 came with a ram mount for the bike and a suction mount for the truck that work just fine.
I just hard wired the handlebar mount to the battery with an inline fuse.
Did yours not come with a mount ?

RAM mount is the way to go. I see you are in Canada. Check out gpscity.ca

They are excellent for supplying RAM stuff and really fast delivery.

Got the OEM mount. Expensive but it works and looks good. The only reason I got it was that when I traded in the 1600 I stripped all the bling and sold it on Kiijjii. Used those $$$ to buy it. Easy to install but it's always there.

Stock ram mount works well (need bigger u-bolt though). I chose not to go with Kaw mount because it looks like it will block out the display. Ram hard wired to right side and can still see everything.

Well, I splurged on the Kaw mount. It looks good and is very solid as a mount. It also has a tilt feature built in, which is nice. Least they could do for the price.
It does block the radio display, but you can look around it to see the display if necessary. It doesn't block any of the upper dash.
I like the looks, and I like the location. Doesn't seem to "clutter" things up. While I like it, as someone else pointed out, it is always there. That is fine for me since I hard wired it to the battery. For someone who might want to move things around, or take the mount off and on, this would not be an attractive solution.
I'll try to post some photos when I get a moment.

Some photos of the Kaw OEM Zumo 550 mount. I damaged the black caps taking them off, so have new ones on order.

Thanks for the info. Ordered the one joeincalif posted pictures of. If it doesn't perform well on my Nomad 1700 I can upgrade to the expensive mount.
