Some people are just plain nuts. Or they've got too much money to spend.

Here is my take on it.
The guys cars are all from the year he was born 1950. So they are the same age as he is. He and his cars are aging in nature at the same rate. I believe that is his plan. So it doesn't bother me at all.

Someone can perhaps restore some of them again when the guy is gone.

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/q...pse0875f80.jpg This is my 64 gto, It's in pretty sad shape but it's complete. Some assembly required thanks to the previous owner. I have all the parts necessary to do so. I don't have the resources to rebuild it right now and it's sitting outside as the garage space is all used up. I grew up around this car as it belonged to a friend of the family and it was given to me due to the owner going through foreclosure and bankruptcy. It was going to be auctioned and so it is now mine. I did not acquire it to sit it outside and watch it rot. I love it, and can stand to see it destroyed beyond repair. So unlike that damned fool in the OP, if I can't afford to do something with it in the next couple of years, it will be sold to someone who will enjoy it.

To me, its not all that different from a collector who buys cars and stuffs them in a private collection not seen by the public. As far as the collector is concerned, he never plans to sell the cars anyways.
For surviving family members there is a difference. The ones stored in a garage can be sold. For the collector, no difference.

Crazy but it is his right to do as he pleases with his property. The sad part is while he may be aging with the cars as Tim says people are reproducible. These are will be gone for ever.
