she has tried all kinds of boots; it her right foot that she says gets hot so I guess its off the exhaust!! its a 2012 so I have the fan that's suppose to help. thinking of trying the marv pegs

You should think about wrapping your pipes and / or spraying them with a UHT ceramic ultra high temp paint.

I wrapped mine, not painted, and they're now painted, not wrapped... Either way temperatures are lowered. One day I'll get around to wrapped and painted.

Another thing to consider is if you are running stock pipes, her foot is sitting right over the Cat. mine complained until I changed the pipes and got rid of the aweful CAT. it is amazing how much heat those things produces.

thanks az voyager!!! I think you have it figured out, could I put slip on mufflers and remove cat material ? I really don't want to do full system?

Slip ons - either Cobra or V&H - are pretty much what's mostly available. V&H do a 2 into 1 full system, and you will have noticed on the forum with a search that Freedom Performance True Duals are very very popular, but otherwise it's Cobra or V&H. Either one will get rid of the cat material, since that's in the mufflers not the headers.

I've put Cobra scalloped tip slip-ons on mine, and they certainly do help... But I'd still give the wrap and / or paint most of the credit for heat reduction.

Just looked at the adjustable footrest on their Website and my passenger footrest on my bike and don't see how this is possible.

UHT or VHT? I just did this to my Voyager with VHT. I also rapped the pipes after Curing the VHT. I have not tried it out yet as I did several other
needed maintenance services while I already had the bike stripped down. I should have it all back together and on the road tomorrow.

A friend that rides with me has a 12 Voyager with the KAMS and still notices the excessive heat off the pipes on the right side. All big bore bikes make a lot of heat. Be they Harley, Victory, Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, or Kawasaki. If I left any maker out just plug them in. All big bikes make big heat. What's the old saying " if you can't take the heat......."

The hottest bike I have ever been on was an Ultra I rented last year in Sandi ago. The 1700 is ice cold compared to it.

Yep... VHT. My bad.

I had them wrapped alone, but the heat shield clamps worked loose on the wrap and frayed it. I considered just coating the damaged wrap with the VHT Ceramic paint, but instead removed it and painted the pipes themselves.

It does seem to reduce the temps this way... But I'll probably wrap them again anyway at some point, and VHT paint the wrap to give it a bit of strength.

I had the same issue until I removed the CAT. It was cooking my wife's right foot and calf. Put a set of V&H true dual headers and Rinehart slip-ons along with open air breather and richer fuel map. The air cooled engine is still pretty warm but problem solved.
