Highway Peg Placement

Completely random question. Just wondering where everyone places their highway pegs on their 1700. I was just looking at pictures of the 2015 Vaquero and noticed the crashbar wasn't coated on the bottom bend, likely where they recommend you place the highway pegs?
Mine are above that bend. I'd think my brake lever would get in the way if I moved them down there?

Pictures?

That's the beauty of them. You can mount them whichever way is comfortable for you.

Understand that, just wondering if anyone actually had them down there below the bend, and if it interfered with the brake pedal

Have a set made by Aeromach that bolt on under the floorboards peg included all chromed and are expensive.I had a set on my 1500 and liked them so I got a set for the 1700 Nomad. Also kuryakyn have a similar set up that bolt on under the floorboards and you have an option to choose the type of foot peg you want, which are extra.

Sorry to go off track a little. Been looking for a solution for a while. I found pegs on their site for the 1500s and 1600s. Nothing for the 1700s. I sent them an email asking them for a link.

Do you have a picture of the pegs on the bike?

I have exactly the same highway pegs you do Duff - on my Voyager.

On the Nomad, they were in the perfect place to get that 3 way foot positioning. Not the same on the Voyager. So I did some measuring while I still had the Nomad, and found the highway bars were exactly 2" further forward on the Voyager.

Kury do a 2" extender, so I've added them to the longhorns. I now have them in what feels so much like the perfect place that I spend 90 percent of my time on the bike in that heel on the board / toe on the peg position.

Haha... No. I'm a LEO, and was issued an ID number back at the beginning. They'd run out of 4 digit numbers when I joined in '95, and started on the alphabet. My issue was G228. First name / Surname initials are normally used in front of that, so my full ID number is PEG228.

The Sgt on my first section out of Police college just started calling me "peg", and the nickname stuck. I was really pleased at that point that my surname didn't start with an "I"... but there's a few people out there who seem to think it did

They've gone right through single alphabet numbers now, and are well into double alphabet / double number. Meet another cop you don't know, there's always a glance at the number shown on the epaulet... So you can assess the seniority. With nearly 20yrs in I've got plenty of that, but there are still a lot of non "alphabet cops" around with a straight four digit number. We have just one Police force here, and one Police college. So those numbers are a measure of service across the whole country.

Sorry Neil but we don't have them for your bike only the older models.

HI,

I was looking for cruising pegs for my 2010 Kawasaki 1700 Nomad on your site but only found them for the older Nomads. Do you make them for the 1700s and if so do you have link to the product description and a picture.

Thank you.

Back when I worked uniform, the way to judge seniority was hashmarks on the sleeve of the long sleeve shirt . . . one hash mark for every 5 years . . .When wearing the short sleeve it was a bit more difficult . . . had to go by their code number (not Badge number) . . . When I joined in '93 we were in the 4900's . . . I think new guys now are getting codes in the 11,000 range . . .

I never knew that about you guys displaying it on your uniforms . . . I had always thought those numbers/letters on the epaulets had to do with their district/assignment . . . You learn something new every day! Thanks!

We always have to display our badge number on the outside of our uniform, usually on the epaulet. The cynical among us would say it's so we can be identified when someone wants to make a complaint... I just make sure I never get any of those.
